Al Ain move back to the top with an impressive win over lackluster Kalba

The closing game of the ADNOC’s Pro League game-week 4 held under the motto: ‘UAE Projects of the 50’ was Al Ain Vs Ittihad Kalba at the state of the art Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

In just over 60 seconds Al Ain got off the mark with a goal from Moroccan Soufian Rahimi for his 1st goal of the season.

The inevitable 2nd goal came 8 minutes later for Al Ain from a terrific corner from Guanca which caused confusion amongst the Kalba defence and the ‘best player of the month for August’ Kodjo Laba was the first to react and score his 5th goal of the season.

In the 26th minute Kodjo Laba adds another goal to his name with a simple tap in after some good play from Bandar Al Ahbabi to make it 3-0 for Al Ain.

In the 6th minute of injury-time Al Ain went 4-0 up with a wonderful individual effort from the Argentine Guanca who netted his 1st goal of the season.

Six minutes into the 2nd period Mohammed Abbas made a horrendous mistake when he gave the ball away to Peniel Mlapa in his own half who made no mistake in slotting the ball into the net giving Kalba a slim lifeline to get back into this game.

Al Ain move back to the top of the table on 12 points with 4 wins out of 4 while Ittihad Kalba stay in 10th position on 2 points.
