Al Wasl and Al Wahda encounter ends in a 1-1 draw

A 1-1 draw was the final result of ADNOC Pro League fourth match-week encounter between Al Wasl and Al Wahda at Zabeel stadium.

The result seems satisfactory to both sides, as Al Wasl haven't lost to Al Wahda at home for 9 games now, whereas Al Wahda maintained their undefeated streak away from home for the 12th game.

Al Wasl took the lead early in the game with a fast counter-attack that resulted into a goal scored by their skipper Ali Salmeen who made the best of Ramiro Benneti's cutback in the 6th minute.

The 29th minute saw one of the most bizarre missed chances of the season so far when Hassan Ibrahim failed to score in front of an empty goal as the rebound from a saved shot fell to him but he struck it way wide of the target.

Al Wahda's prolific striker Joao Pedro refused to leave his side trailing at half-time, as he netted a goal in the 45th minute with a beautifully-executed ground strike from outside the box that put Al Wahda back in the game, and handed Pedro his fourth goal in four games this season.

Both sides' attempts to score in the second half failed steering the game to a 1-1 draw.

Al Wahda earned their sixth point this season and currently lie in the sixth place, while Al Wasl remain in the eighth spot with 5 points collected in 4 games.
