The first chapter of Ajman Vs. Sharjah encounter in the first round of UAE Pro League Cup at Ajman stadium has ended in a 2-2 draw as both teams put in an entertaining display for Emirati football fans.
The visiting team took the lead as early as in the 11th minute with a powerful header from Ahmed Alhashmi that hit the crossbar before settling in the hosts net.
Nine minutes later, Ajman's star Firas Ben Al Arbi put his side back in the game when he went head-to-head with Sharjah's goalkeeper Darwish Bin Habib to level the score with a left-foot strike that went past the goalie placing the hosts back on the right track.
Seconds before the half-time whistle Luan Pereira snatched Sharjah the lead once again two minutes into the added time with a fiery strike he sent into the far right corner of the hosts' net.
It was Sharjah's rescuer Ben Al Arbi who saved his team the embarrassment of losing at home again, with an equalizer netted from a perfectly-executed free-kick that he rocketed into the right top corner of the visitor's net to make sure both sides have chances equal in the return game set to be held at Sharjah stadium on October 25.
