Al Nasr lent the finishing touches to the formality of entering the quarter-finals of the UAE Pro League Cup with an insipid 0-0 home result against visiting Al Dhafra, at the Al Maktoum Stadium, on Monday.
Comfortably placed following their 3-1 win in the first round, Al Nasr ensured their dominance and a rightful spot with a 3-1 aggregate victory to be among the top eight teams heading into the knock-out stages of the competition.
Both teams had scoring chances, but Al Nasr seemed content in soaking up the pressure from the visitors knowing well that even a goalless draw would fetch them one of the six quarter-final spots on offer.
As per regulations, league champions Al Jazira and defending champions Shabab Al Ahli have already booked their places in the quarter-finals.
Ajman and Al Nasr were the other two teams advancing earlier on Monday, while Ittihad Kalba and Al Wasl looked set to join them, but only after their matches against Al Orooba and Bani Yas, respectively later on Monday.
