Ajman managed to overcome visiting Al Jazira 2-1 at Rashid Bin Saeed stadium in the ninth week of ADNOC Pro League held under the motto "flag day" in a game that saw Al Jazira's Ali Mabkout equal Fahd Khamis record as the league's all-time top scorer when he netted his 175th goal in the competition.
Yorleys Mena set up his team Bubacarr Trawally for an opener in the 19th minute, while Mabkhout equalized for Al Jazira in the 45th minute from the penalty spot to become one goal away from overtaking Al Wasl Fahd Khamis as the Emirati league all-time highest goal scorer equaling a record that has been untouched since 1997.
This goal is Mabkhout's 33rd goal to be scored from the penalty spot, as he now has the most successfully taken penalties in the Pro League.
However, Al Jazira's situation got complicated with the red card shown to goalkeeper Ali Khasif in the 59th minute, as it didn't take Mohamed Firas Ben Al Arbi long to seize the opportunity and score the winner from a free-kick in the 63rd minute of the game.
The loss saw Al Jazira's balance stop at 16 points falling behind Al Nasr on goal difference while Ajman earned their 14th point this season.
