Mohamed Rashid Al Hammadi bagged a brace as Bani Yas pulled off a 3-1 victory over Ittihad Kalba in ADNOC Pro League.
It took Bani Yas only two minutes to open the scoring when Nicolas Gimenez found Al Hammadi on the edge of the penalty area, whose right-footed strike found the back of the net.
Gimenez doubled the scoring for his team after 17 minutes, but referee Musallam Ahmad ruled the goal out due to an offside.
Eight minutes later, Swedish forward Isaac Thelin cemented Bani Yas' lead when he met Gimenez's cross with a powerful shot from close range to make it 2-0.
Midfielder Samuel Souza came close to adding the third goal for Bani Yas through a powerful shot from the outside of the box, but his strike hit the post in the 61st minute.
Peniel Mlapa halved the deficit for Ittihad Kalba after 63 minutes, when he met Ahmed Abdullah's cross with a powerful header into the back of the net.
Seven minutes later, Al Hammadi unleashed a right-foot effort from the edge of the penalty area to make it 3-1 and seal the win for his side.
