The 2022-23 sports season has come to a perfect conclusion with the ADIB Cup final, which was held on Saturday, May 27th, between Al Ain and Sharjah at the venue of Al Nahyan Stadium amidst great fans attendance.
Fan activities
Before the kickoff of the match, all tickets of both teams were sold out, and the fans started to flock to the stadium hours before the start of the highly anticipated event. The Fan Zone surrounding the stadium witnessed many recreational games, skills, various competitions, music, entertainment shows, food and beverage facilities, and others.
Spectacular opening ceremony
Whether you were in the stands of Al Nahyan Stadium or in front of the TV sports channels, you are sure to have enjoyed the pre-match ceremony organized by the UAE Pro League on an 11-meter spherical display, showcasing magnificent content using 360-degree technology, in addition to the latest editing software, all-out creativity visualization tools (Notch), and extra-large displays.
During the show, the Pro League was keen to highlight the big role of the UAE in supporting sustainable energy through scientific research and the large projects being implemented in this field. The UAE is one of the world's leading countries, in terms of its population and size, in launching many sustainability and future projects.
A group of young people with disabilities, as well as the Sharjah Mime band, a group of hearing impaired Mime performers in the UAE, performed in the opening ceremony, which was directed by Hassan Abdulhamid.
This participation was part of the UAE Pro League's community initiatives, through which, it aims to engage all members of society in its events and highlight their talents and skills to the attending fans.
The grand prize
Sultan Abdullah won the grand prize, a Tesla Model Y car, presented by Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. The lucky winner was announced after the end of the match through a draw on electronically scanned tickets.
Valuable prizes
Thirteen fans attending the final match won many valuable prizes, three of them won 50% of their salaries transferred to Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank on the night of the ADIB Cup final, while ten others won smartphones offered by the Honor Company.
TV broadcast
The ADIB Cup final was broadcasted live in 4K via 42 cameras, in addition to Body Cam cameras, drone cameras for overhead shots, and cameras for aesthetic shots.
Ways of modern marketing
During the ADIB Cup final, the UAE Pro League endeavored to present the latest modern technologies in advertising and marketing means. The electronic background boards were introduced for the first time in stadiums, displaying various sponsors and competition partners continuously and aesthetically. Also, credit cards took on a new form, which appears as bank cards, to express the distinguished partnership between the UAE Pro League and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank.
The match ball
In a new initiative, the UAE Pro League decided to auction the opening goal ball scored in the ADIB Cup final. The auction, scheduled to begin on May 30th, also includes the players' shirts, the original copy of the gold and silver medals, the shoes of the best player in the match, and other items related to the final game of the ADIB Cup.
Half-time activities
World-renowned football freestyler Séan Garnier presented a show of his dazzling skills during halftime. Garnier is a French freestyle footballer who won the 2008 Red Bull Street-style soccer world championship. This show was held in collaboration with Red Bull.
