Vinicius Mello latched onto a smart through-ball from Mamadou Coulibaly and slotted the ball into the back of the net to cement the Pride of Abu Dhabi's lead in the 27th minute.
Nabil Fekir made it 3-0 after successfully converted from a penalty spot before the break.
Al Wasl tried to get back in the game and they succeeded in reducing the deficit in the 75th minute via a spot-kick. Joao Pedro stroked the ball into the bottom corner to make it 3-1.
