Al Jazira Through to ADIB Cup's Final with 3-2 Aggregate Win over Al Wasl

Al Jazira showcased a brilliant performance at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in the second leg of the ADIB Cup's semi-final to defeat Al Wasl 3-1.

 

 

 

By Saturday's win, the Pride of Abu Dhabi reached the tournament's final after securing a 3-2 aggregate victory.

 

 

 

Al Wasl had snatched a 1-0 late victory in the first leg, but failed to maintain their atvantage in the second tie.

 

 

 

Al Jazira needed twenty minutes to take the lead when Ramon Mierez pounced on a misjudgment from Al Wasl's defense and nodded the ball into the back of the net.

 

 

 

 

Vinicius Mello latched onto a smart through-ball from Mamadou Coulibaly and slotted the ball into the back of the net to cement the Pride of Abu Dhabi's lead in the 27th minute.

 

 

 

Nabil Fekir made it 3-0 after successfully converted from a penalty spot before the break.

 

 

 

Al Wasl tried to get back in the game and they succeeded in reducing the deficit in the 75th minute via a spot-kick. Joao Pedro stroked the ball into the bottom corner to make it 3-1.
