Al Ain settled a six-goal thriller after securing a 4-2 win over Al Orooba in matchweek eight of the ADNOC Pro League on Thursday.
Soufiane Rahimi found the breakthrough after 13 minutes when Al Orooba's goalkeeper Abdalla Yousif failed to properly clear the ball as it fell to the Moroccan winger, who planted an excellent header into the back of the net.
The goalkeeper was the fall guy again as the ball fell from his hands inside the six-yard box, where Laba Kodjo drilled the ball into the empty net in the 29th minute.
A curling effort from Mohamed Awad saw Al Ain add the third goal one minute before the break.
Laba Kodjo grabbed his brace two minutes after the hour-mark when he timed his run perfectly to head in Mohamed Awad's cross.
Mohammad Reza reduced the margin for Al Orooba when he pounced on Mohamed Jalal's long through ball as he kept his composure and beat the goalkeeper before drilling the ball into the empty net.
A misjudgment from Al Ain's defense led to another goal for Al Orooba as Appolinaire Kack found the ball inside the box and latched it into the empty net.
The result means that Al Ain are sixth with eleven points, while Al Orooba sit 13th with three points.
