Dibba Al-Hisn celebrated their first win of the 2024-2025 ADNOC Pro League season with a narrow 1-0 win over Bani Yas on Saturday.
The match, held at Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qassimi Stadium, was part of Matchweek 8 of the competition.
The result lifts Dibba Al-Hisn to 12th place in the standings with 5 points, while Bani Yas remain in 11th with 7 points.
In the 32nd minute, Dibba Al-Hisn’s Niksa Vujanovic broke the deadlock with a clinical finish following a swift counterattack.
The goal is considered the 30th scored by Montenegrin players in the history of the ADNOC Pro League.
Dibba Al-Hisn continued to dominate after the break, nearly doubling their lead in the 69th minute when a powerful header from a corner struck the post.
Meanwhile, Bani Yas struggled to create clear chances but came close to an equalizer in the 78th minute when an accidental deflection off Dibba Al-Hisn defender Falah Waleed almost resulted in an own goal, only for the ball to go out for a corner.
Despite late pressure, Dibba Al-Hisn held firm to secure the three points, sealing their first win of the season.
