Al Nasr secured a thrilling 3-2 win over Dibba Al-Hisn in an action-packed Matchweek 9 clash at Al Maktoum Stadium on Sunday in the ADNOC Pro League.
The win pushed Al Nasr to 16 points, solidifying their position in 5th place, while Dibba Al-Hisn remain in 12th with 5 points.
Al Nasr wasted no time asserting their dominance, launching an aggressive attack from the outset.
In the 7th minute, Adel Taarabt headed the home side into the lead with a clinical finish.
Moments later, a penalty was awarded to Al Nasr, and Ali Mabkhout converted it flawlessly in the 10th minute.
The goal was a landmark achievement, as Mabkhout became the first player this season to score against all ADNOC Pro League teams.
Continuing their relentless pressure, Al Nasr struck again in the 27th minute with Leroy Johan Fer adding a third goal, giving the hosts a commanding 3-0 advantage.
Dibba Al-Hisn showed resilience, and just before halftime, Haithem Jouini pulled one back with a well-placed shot in the 41st minute.
The first half ended 3-1 in favor of Al Nasr, marking the first time since December 2015 that the team scored twice in the opening 10 minutes and the first time since May 2022 that they led by three goals at halftime on home soil.
The second half saw Dibba Al-Hisn come alive with a renewed sense of urgency.
In the 57th minute, Midana Bigna scored a brilliant goal, narrowing the deficit to 3-2.
This goal marked a turning point as Dibba Al-Hisn launched a series of dangerous attacks, testing Al Nasr’s defensive organization.
