Goals from Prestige Mboungou and Ben Alarbi were the difference for Ajman in a 2-0 home win over Bani Yas in matchweek five of the ADNOC Pro League at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium on Friday.
It took 12 minutes for the hosts to open the scoring when Mohamed Ismail floated in a brilliant cross from the right corner into the penalty area, where Prestige Mboungou towered above Bani Yas defense to fire a powerful header into the back of the net.
Only two minutes before the final whistle, Ben Alarbi sealed the victory for his side with a clinical finish from close range following a brilliant cross from Waleed Azaro.
The result means Ajman are now in fifth place with 7 points, while Bani Yas remain in 11th position with four points.
