Al Ain kept their title race hopes alive after coming from a 0-1 down to draw 1-1 with Shabab Al Ahli at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium on Saturday.
Al Ain should have taken an early lead in the second minute when Laba Kodjo teed up Jonatas Santos inside the box as the latter fired a powerful strike, which was parried out by Majed Naser.
Eight minutes after the hour-mark, substitute Guilherme Bala broke the deadlock and gave the visitors the lead when he picked up the ball from the left flank and skipped past a defender before hammering a strike past Khalid Eissa.
Laba Kodjo hit the equalizer for the hosts ten minutes before the time when he timed his run perfectly to head in Bandar Al Ahbabi's cross.
The result means that Shabab Al Ahli sit first with 46 points, while Al Ain come second with 41 points.
