In a pulsating clash at the Khaled bin Mohammed Stadium, Al Bataeh demonstrated tactical brilliance and potent attacking prowess to secure a resounding 3-1 win over Khorfakkan during matchweek five of the ADNOC Pro League.
This win propels Al Bataeh’s point tally to a commendable 7, while Khorfakkan remain at a standstill with their 4 points.
The hosts broke the deadlock and opened the scoring in the 41st minute when they were awarded a penalty kick after Anatole Bertrand was brought down inside the box by Khorfakkan's defender Khalifa Mubarak Ghanim, prompting the referee to point to the spot. Alvaro De Oliveira stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, to make it 1-0.
The lead did not last long; as Lourency Do leveled the scoring for Khorfakkan when he was teed up inside the box by Tiago De Leonco before drilling the ball into the top corner of the net.
