Al Jazira came from behind to draw 1-1 against Al Ain at Mohammad bin Zayed Stadium in the first leg of the Pro League Cup semi-final on Tuesday evening.
The hosts needed just four minutes to pose their first real threat when Zayed Al Ameri took control of a poorly cleared ball to cut inside the box and curled a low-effort, which was brilliantly save by keeper Khaled Eisa.
Four minutes later, Abdoulaye Diaby came close to snatching the lead for Al Jazira when he fired a left-footed shot, but it was denied by the keeper.
In the 19th minute, Al Ain started showing their teeth, when Kouame Autonne gave his side the lead with a strong header into the bottom corner of the net following a corner kick.
Only six minutes after the restart, Bruno de Oliveira restored parity for the hosts, when he unleashed a right-footed shot from inside the box beating Eisa into the near post.
The two sides lock horns again at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in the second leg of the semi-final on Tuesday, March 8.
