Siaka Sidibe made it 1-1 before heading to the dressing rooms for the break after picking up the ball inside the box and slotting it into the bottom corner.
In a dramatic twist that escalated the on-field tension, each team witnessed a player receiving a red card - Soufiane Bouftini from Al Wasl and Soud Saeed from Ajman, turning up the heat in the ensuing minutes of the match.
