Fujairah secured their spot in the quarter final of the Arabian Gulf Cup after beating Ajman 2-1 in the second leg of the playoff round at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium on Thursday.
The guests entered the game on the back of their 1-0 advantage in the first leg at home. They conceded a goal right after the break but were able to score two goals to seal the win and book their spot in the next round.
The first half ended in a goalless draw and it wasn’t until five minutes after the break that the ball found the back of the net. A long pass from Isam Faiz found Issam Shaitit inside the box and the latter tapped home to net the opener and level the scoreline 1-1 on aggregate.
Fujairah, however, equalized 10 minutes later through Tunisia's Mohamed Firas Ben Al Arbi who smuggled a low-free kick past Ajman keeper Yousuf Ahmed.
They then took the lead in the 69th minute to move a step closer towards the quarter final, as Farley Rosa fired a curled long-range effort into the top corner of the net, leaving keeper Ahmed helpless.
After winning their two games against Ajman in the playoffs, Fujairah sealed their spot in the quarter final, where they will clash with reigning champions Al Nasr.
