Bani Yas secured their place in the ADIB Cup quarterfinals after a decisive 3-0 victory over Dibba Al-Hisn in Gameweek Two of ADIB Cup on Sunday.
Playing at the Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qassimi Stadium, Bani Yas completed a 7-2 aggregate win, having won 4-2 in Gameweek One. This emphatic performance sets them up for a quarterfinal clash against Al Wasl.
The game turned early in Bani Yas' favor when Dibba Al-Hisn were reduced to 10 men in the 10th minute. Niksa Vujanovic was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Bani Yas goalkeeper Fahad Aldhanhani, leaving his team with an uphill battle.
Bani Yas took control of the match, pushing forward relentlessly. Their efforts were rewarded in the 36th minute when Youssoufou Niakate opened the scoring. A perfectly placed cross from Suhail Alnoobi allowed Niakate to slot the ball home, bringing his tally to four goals in four matches across the ADNOC Pro League and ADIB Cup.
Just before halftime, Bani Yas doubled their lead. Khalaf Alhosani headed in a second goal after João Victor delivered an excellent cross, ensuring Bani Yas went into the break firmly in control.
In the second half, Bani Yas continued to dominate, creating numerous chances while Dibba Al-Hisn struggled to cope. Although Bani Yas missed several opportunities to extend their lead, they sealed the game with a third goal in stoppage time. Lazar Markovic found the back of the net in the 92nd minute, capping off a commanding performance and ensuring Bani Yas advanced with ease.
