Bani Yas scored three second-half goals to beat Hatta 3-0 at Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium in matchweek 9 of the Arabian Gulf League on Friday.
No goals were scored in the first half and very few chances were created on both sides of the pitch.
The second half, however, was a different story. Bani Yas threatened Hatta on goal in the 61st minute, when Sultan Saeed Alshamsi crossed the ball in the penalty area and Joao Pedro headed it near the post.
The Sky Blues, however, found the back of the net in the 67th minute. Joao Pedro passed the ball to Nicolas Gimenez who crossed it to his teammate Suhail Alnoobi and the latter tapped the ball easily into the net.
Bani Yas doubled their lead less than 10 minutes later, when Joao Pedro converted a long-range free kick into the back of the net in an impressive manner to raise his tally to 8 goals so far this season.
The guests sealed the three points when Sasa Ivkovic headed the third goal in the 81st minute following a free kick from Gaston Suarez from the right side.
Bani Yas earned their second league win in a row and moved to fourth place with 16 points. Meanwhile, Hatta remained at the bottom of the table with one point only.
