Ittihad Kalba settled a six-goal thriller after sealing a 4-2 win over Emirates in matchweek nine of the ADNOC Pro League on Friday.
Ittihad Kalba wasted no time and broke the deadlock after just six minutes when Mehdi Ghayedi picked up the ball inside the box and skipped past a defender before drilling the ball into the bottom corner. It is the fastest goal scored by Ittihad Kalba during the ongoing season after just five minutes and 44 seconds.
Twelve minutes later, the 24-year-old Iranian player grabbed his brace and cemented the visitors' lead when he was put through a one-to-one position against the Emirates goalkeeper and fired a sensational effort into the back of the net. After his brace, Ghayedi raised his tally of goals in the ADNOC Pro League to 10 during his 31 caps.
Fahad Bader's well-placed shot from a tight angle reduced the deficit for Emirates in the 38th minute.
Ittihad Kalba was awarded a penalty kick after Mehdi Ghayedi was brought down inside the box by Ahmad Essa. Daniel Bessa scored from the sport with a low shot into the left corner after sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. Andres Vombergar scored another spot kick to make it 4-1 in 73rd minute.
Francisco Alcacer reduced the margin again when he timed his run perfectly to head in Fahad Bader's cross. Fahad Bader has been involved in four goals during Emirates' last eight games in the ADNOC Pro League, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
