Ittihad Kalba Fight Back to Defeat Al Nasr in Eight-Goal Thriller

Ittihad Kalba came from behind to earn a 5-3 win over Al Nasr in matchweek 8 of the ADNOC Pro League on Saturday.

Sultan Alzaabi needed just three minutes to break the deadlock when Al Nasr's defenders failed to properly clear the ball as it fell to Alzaabi, who kept his composure and fired home from close range.

Fourteen minutes later, Ryan Mendes restored parity for the visitors when he timed his run perfectly to head in Rashed Mohammad Omar's cross.

Adel Taarabt teed up Mendes, who brilliantly cut inside the penalty area and beat the goalkeeper, before slotting the ball into the empty net in the 21st minute.

Al Nasr kept up the pressure and scored the third goal of the night when Dembo Darboe towered above Ittihad Kalba's defense to thump a brilliant header into the back of the net in the 34th minute.

Eleven minutes after the hour-mark, Daniel Bessa reduced the deficit and made it 2-1.

Ahmed Alnaqbi leveled the scoring for the hosts when climbed above Al Nasr's defenders to plant a powerful header into the bottom corner in the 76th minute.

Ten minutes before the time, Filip Kiss put the victory ahead after picking up the ball on the right flank of the penalty area and firing the ball into the back of the net.

Ahmed Alnaqbi sealed the victory in the stoppage time and secured the three points for the hosts when he was put through on goal before lobbing the ball over the goalkeeper.

The result means Ittihad Kalba are now fifth with 14 points, while Al Nasr remain 12th with six points.
