A brace from Laba Kodjo and a goal from Erik Jorgens handed Al Ain a 3-1 win over Emirates in matchweek 6 of the ADNOC Pro League on Saturday at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.
Laba Kodjo fired Al Ain in front after seven minutes when Laba Kodjo headed in Erik Jorgens' cross.
Erik Jorgens turned from a provider to a scorer as his superb first-time volley from inside the box found the back of the net and cemented Al Ain's lead in the 44th minute.
The Togolese strike added the third when he ran onto a superb upfield pass from Alejandro Romero to break the offside trap as Kodjo drilled the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
Andres Iniesta reduced the deficit from the spot in the 58th minute after stepping up and sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
The result means that Al Ain are now topping the table with 15 points, while Emirates sit 12th with 5 points.
