Ahmed Alnaqbi headed in a 100th-minute winner as Ittihad Kalba left it late to beat Sharjah 2-1 in matchweek 24 of the ADNOC Pro League on Sunday.
Ahmed Abdalla Mohamad put Ittihad Kalba ahead after 15 minutes when he climbed above Sharjah's defense to thump a brilliant header into the back of the net.
Ahmed Abdalla should have doubled the scoring when his clinical finish from close range found the back of the net one minute after the break, but the goal was disallowed after referee Mohammed Obaid consulted the VAR.
Alcacer was unlucky, as his equalizer for Sharjah in the 55th minute was also ruled out because of an offside.
Salem Sultan hit the equalizer for the hosts in the 93rd minute with a stunning shot from inside the box.
Alnaqbi turned the game on its head in the 100th minute when he timed his run perfectly to head in Abdulaziz Hamad's cross.
The result means that Ittihad Kalba sit eighth with 32 points, while Sharjah are fifth with 42 points
