Sebastian Tagliabue netted a brace to hand Al Nasr a valuable 2-1 victory over Sharjah at Al Maktoum Stadium in matchweek 19 of the Arabian Gulf League.
The home team were the better side throughout the first half, and their pressure eventually paid off when they opened the scoring just before halftime. Toze's freekick hit the crossbar and Sebastian Tagliabue fired in the rebound to put the Blues 1-0 up.
The King levelled things up when Saif Rashid's header nestled into the back of Ahmed Shambih's net on the one-hour mark. Sharjah’s comeback, however, was short-lived, as Tagliabue regained Al Nasr’s lead only four minutes later. The 36-year-old connected with a Ryan Mendes cross to tap the ball home.
Al Nasr occupy fourth place with 36 points, one below Sharjah. The King are now two points behind second-placed Bani Yas and four below leaders Al Jazira.
