Shabab Al Ahli Secure Quarterfinal Spot with 3-1 Aggregate Win Over Ajman

Shabab Al Ahli secured their spot in the ADIB Cup quarterfinals after a 1-1 draw against Ajman at the Rashid bin Saeed Stadium, progressing with a 3-1 aggregate win.

Despite the tie in Gameweek Two, Shabab Al Ahli’s Gameweek One 2-0 victory ensured their qualification. They will now face Al Nasr in what promises to be an exciting quarterfinal match.

The match saw Ajman take the lead shortly after the second half began, with Waleed Azaro scoring in the 46th minute from a perfectly delivered cross by Mohamed Souboul. Azaro’s goal marked his third in Ajman’s last four ADIB Cup matches.

However, Shabab Al Ahli responded quickly. Just six minutes later, Yuri Cesar brought the visitors level with a well-taken goal, marking his first-ever goal in the ADIB Cup after seven appearances. His equalizer reignited the game and kept Shabab Al Ahli in control of the tie.

The first half was an intense affair, with both teams displaying their strengths. Shabab Al Ahli dominated possession, utilizing high pressing to disrupt Ajman’s defense, while Ajman countered with fast, long balls to exploit the gaps left by Shabab Al Ahli’s advanced defensive line.

Despite pushing for a second goal, Ajman couldn't break through Shabab Al Ahli’s defense. A golden opportunity in the 70th minute was denied by Shabab Al Ahli goalkeeper Hamad Abdullah, who made a crucial save to keep his team level. Shabab Al Ahli, on the other hand, wasted a series of chances to take the lead, leaving the game to end 1-1.
