Sharjah Salvage a Point against Al Jazira Thanks to a Last-Minute Own Goal

In a high-octane clash at Mohammad bin Zayed Stadium, Al Jazira and Sharjah ended up sharing the spoils, settling for a 1-1 draw in the eagerly awaited encounter in matchweek seven of ADNOC Pro League.

 

 

Each team left the field having added a single point to their tally, with Al Jazira reaching 11 points in fifth place, and Sharjah achieving 13 points, positioning them in fourth.

 


Al Jazira broke the deadlock and opened the scoring in the 41st minute when Ali Mabkhout met Neeskens Kebano's cross with a powerful shot into the bottom corner

This marked Mabkhout's seventh goal in Al Jazira's last 11 goals against Sharjah in the ADNOC Pro League, highlighting his pivotal role in the team’s attacking prowess.

 

 

Despite Al Jazira's dominance, Sharjah created significant chances in the first half. The most notable opportunity came from Caio Lucas in the 18th minute, but Al Jazira’s goalkeeper Ali Khaseif was up to the task, making a crucial save.

 

 

Sharjah’s other attempts, though promising, failed to materialize into goals.
