Sekou Baba's header rescued a point for Al Bataeh as they came from behind to play out a 1-1 draw against Al Dhafra at Khalid Ben Mohammed Stadium on Friday.
Two minutes before the break, Al Dhafra found the breakthrough and took the lead when Tiago De Leonco timed his run perfectly to meet Khalid Ali Aldarmaki's cross with a brilliant low volley into the bottom corner of the net.
Al Bataeh suffered another blow in the 45th minute when they had to play almost 52 minutes with ten players after Fahad Sabeel was shown a straight red card for a reckless foul on Rashed Alktebi.
Twelve minutes after the hour-mark, Sekou Baba rescued a point for the hosts and hit the equalizer when he towered above Al Dhafra's defense to thump a brilliant header into the back of the net.
The result means that Al Bataeh sit 11th with 17 points, while Al Dhafra are 13th with 8 points.
