UAE Pro League awards ceremony scheduled for August 16
The UAE Pro League board approved the amendments to the club licensing regulations for the 2022-2023 licensing cycle. It also reviewed the preparations for the UAE Pro League awards ceremony, as voting is set to open from August 2 to August 5, and the winners will be announced at a ceremony on August 16.
The decisions were announced during the first periodic meeting for the 2021-2022 season, which was held on Saturday, July 31, via video conferencing. The meeting was headed by UAE Pro League Chairman Abdulla Naser Al-Jneibi and attended by Vice-Chairman Jamal Hamed Al Marri and board members Mohammed Obaid AlYamahi, Hassan Taleb Al Marri, Tariq Ali Al Shabibi, Saeed Obaid Al Kaabi, and Jawaher Abdulaziz Al Suwaidi, in addition to Chief Corporate Services Officer Musab AlMarzooqi and Business Development Consultant Dr. Khalid Mohammed Abdullah.
The board reviewed the preparations for the 2021-2022 season, as it seeks to develop all aspects of the professional competitions and build on past successes.
The board also thanked the football companies for their efforts in preparation for the new season. Besides preparing their teams for the new season, the clubs also prepared and developed their facilities, including the stadiums, buildings, and work teams. They made sure everything met the required standards to guarantee the competitions’ quality and to continue to hold them according to the best standards, ensuring the league achieves leadership on the continental level as per the 2020-2030 strategic plan.
The meeting also saw the approval of the revenues' distribution between the professional football companies for the 2020-2021 season.
The board examined developments related to sponsorship, marketing, and technical matters by reviewing the committees' reports in order to discuss the implementation of the best measures needed to ensure sustainable development efforts.
The board asserted the importance of redoubling the efforts in the upcoming period that precedes the new season. In addition, they confirmed that cooperation should help overcome challenges and achieve the goals required to develop Emirati football.
