UAE Pro League Holds Workshop to Kick Off 2025-2026 Club Licensing Cycle

The UAE Pro League hosted a workshop on Wednesday, September 18, to officially launch preparations for the 2025-2026 club licensing cycle.

Held at the Rixos JBR Hotel in Dubai, the event brought together licensing and financial representatives from the country’s professional football clubs.

Key discussions centered on updates to the licensing regulations, with a special focus on financial criteria in line with AFC (Asian Football Confederation) guidelines.

Jaber, an audit expert from the UAE Pro League, highlighted the importance of financial compliance and explained the necessary steps clubs must take to meet the new standards.

Abdullah Mubarak, Acting Director of Club Licensing and Empowerment, provided a detailed overview of the changes to the club licensing process and the timeline for submitting required documents.

He announced that the licensing process would officially begin in September 2024 and run until May 2025.

Clubs are required to submit all necessary files through the electronic licensing system starting from September 18.

In addition to these updates, the workshop addressed the common challenges clubs encountered during the previous licensing cycle and discussed ways to improve for the upcoming season.

Mubarak emphasized the critical role that licensing plays in enhancing clubs’ performance across key areas such as technical development, marketing, organization, and management.

The UAE Pro League regularly organizes these workshops to ensure clubs are well-prepared and able to meet the necessary requirements.

Continuous engagement with clubs throughout the licensing period ensures they stay on track to meet international standards and elevate their performance on multiple fronts.
