ADNOC Pro League Preview: Matchweek 20

With seven matchweeks left in the 2022-23 ADNOC Pro League calendar, it is no wonder that things are heating up at both ends of the table.

Matchweek 20 is nearly upon us and there are several intriguing and enticing fixtures to look forward to in the next two days.

 

Below, we shed light on potential thrillers and preview another exciting matchweek in the ADNOC Pro League.

Each club looks to gain some ground between keeping pace with the league's leading teams or moving up the standings.


Friday's actions get underway with Shabab Al Ahli welcoming Khorfakkan at Rashid Stadium for the 17:45 kick-off.

The two clubs had previously met on seven occasions, with six wins for Shabab Al Ahli, while the other match ended in a draw.

At the same time, Bani Yas host Dibba, with the former seeking to compensate for their last defeat to Al Nasr, while the latter will look to boost their hopes of steering away from the relegation battle.

During their nine previous meetings, Bani Yas have five wins, compared to just a victory for Dibba, while the other three matches ended in draws.


Friday's fixtures continue with a big game between Al Ain and Al Nasr at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium for the 20:30 kick-off.


The hosts will be in a search of keep putting pressure on leaders Shabab Al Ahli to keep their hopes alive in the title race, while the visitors seek to clinch their second consecutive win after defeating Bani Yas in matchweek 19.

Al Nasr and Al Ain clashed 27 times before, with 19 wins for Al Ain, compared to five for Al Nasr, while the other 3 games ended in draws. Al Ain scored 53 goals, while Al Nasr found the back of the net on 24 occasions.

Friday's actions conclude with Al Dhafra hosting Al Wahda at Hamdan Bin Zayed Stadium.

The two clubs had previously played 25 matches before, with just three wins for Al Dhafra, compared to 16 for Al Wahda, while the other six encounters ended in draws.


The fixtures continue on Saturday, with Sharjah clashing against Al Bataeh at 17:30.

Sharjah never tasted defeat in their last 18 matches against the newly-promoted teams in the ADNOC Pro League (11 wins – 7 draws).
At the same time, Ajman welcome Al Jazira at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium

Al Jazira have lost three games to Ajman during their 21 previous games, as they won in 13 matches and drew five.


Matchweek 20 concludes with Ittihad Kalba hosting Al Wasl for the 20:30 kick-off.

The two clubs had 25 matches before, with just three wins for Al Dhafra, compared to 16 for Al Wahda.

The two teams had previously played 15 matches in the ADNOC Pro League, with seven wins for Al Wasl, compared to just a single win for Ittihad Kalba, while the other seven encounters ended in draws.

Al Wasl found the back of Ittihad Kalba's net on 32 occasions, while the latter scored 20 goals against Al Wasl during their previous meetings in the competition.
