The last minutes grabbed the spotlight, in several of ADNOC Pro League games this season, with the first two matchweeks having been completed as the breathtaking late moments witnessed much excitement and decisive goals.
It all started in the first week’s fixture between Sharjah and Ittihad Kalba, which was held at Al Awal Stadium, where the victory of the home side was delayed until the 92nd minute when Bernard Duarte scored the winning goal at the stoppage time, to add three precious points to his team in the debut game of their campaign.
Same scenario reoccured in the game between Baniyas -last season’ runners up-and their guests Al Wasl, where sky Blues managed to decide the game, at the stoppage time when the Brazilian Ramiro snatched the victory for his side with a perfect header in the 93rd minute.
Last minutes also played an important role in deciding the result of the second matchweek’s derby between Al Wahda and Baniyas. The mouth-watering fixture ended in a 1-1 draw as , Al Wahda took the lead through Joao Pedro in the 77th minute before Fares Gomaa gifted Baniyas the equalizer in the 90th minute.
