Arabian Gulf League U21 matchweek 19: Top spots remain unchanged

The top four in the Arabian Gulf League U21 remained unchanged after Al Ain, Sharjah, Al Wahda and Shabab Al Ahli earned wins in matchweek 19, which was held on Monday and Tuesday.

 

Al Ain consolidated their position at the top of the standings with a 2-1 victory over Al Wasl at Zabeel Stadium. The Boss top the standings with 44 points, five above second-placed Sharjah who thrashed Al Nasr 4-0 at home.

 

Al Wahda defeated Ajman 3-0 to maintain the one-point gap with Shabab Al Ahli who cruised to a 5-1 victory over Al Jazira. Shabab Al Ahli remained fourth with 37 points, two above Ittihad Kalba, as the Tigers beat Bani Yas 3-1 away from home.

 

Al Jazira’s and Al Wasl’s defeats left them in sixth and seventh place, respectively, as they are level on 27 points. They sit four points above Ajman, who suffered a defeat to Al Wahda.

 

Fujairah played out a 3-3 draw with Hatta to move to ninth place, level on 21 points with 10th-placed Bani Yas.

 

Khorfakkan emerged 5-2 victorious over Al Dhafra, raising their tally to 19 points in 11th place and leaving Al Dhafra at the bottom of the standings with 10 points. Meanwhile, Hatta sit 12th with 16 points, four above Al Nasr.
