UAE Pro League Chairman His Excellency Abdulla Naser Al-Jneibi congratulated His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Honorary Chairman of Al Jazira Club, His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Chairman of Al Jazira Club, as well as Al Jazira’s board and fans on winning the 2020-2021 Arabian Gulf League title after a tight title race that saw the Pride of Abu Dhabi earn a well-deserved third league title.
Al-Jneibi wished continued success for Al Jazira, saying that the club have big ambitions and rely heavily on academy graduates who proved themselves this season. They were also supported by several experienced players and technical and administrative teams who worked hard to build a winning team.
Al-Jneibi stressed that Emirati football is the biggest winner of the season, adding that the current season succeeded thanks to the directives of the wise leadership and the efforts of the first line of defence who combated the Covid-19 pandemic. This played a key role in the return of football activity with strong and high-quality technical performances, which was reflected in the statistics presented by the work teams and aligned with our strategy focused on reaching the highest levels of success.
Al-Jneibi added that the tight title race which remained undecided until the final matchweek raised the excitement levels and resulted in stronger matches and higher incentives for all teams, who fought for different goals, with some seeking to secure AFC Champions League qualification next season and others fighting to avoid relegation. He added that all these factors created a more competitive atmosphere for the fans who enjoyed the season until the final day.
