With just 14 days remaining until the start of the 2026–27 ADNOC Pro League season, anticipation is building for the return of top-flight football. Fans are set to fill the stadiums once again as clubs prepare to embark on a new campaign filled with ambition, excitement, and fierce competition.
Following a busy summer marked by high-profile signings and coaching changes across many clubs, expectations are high for another closely contested season. As always, the unpredictable nature of the competition promises an exciting battle from the opening round through to the final matchday.
The opening matchweek begins on Friday, 14 August, with Al Nasr hosting Kalba at Al Maktoum Stadium at 6:10 pm, followed by Al Wahda taking on Ajman at Al Nahyan Stadium at 8:45 pm. Both home sides will be aiming to make a strong start to the new season.
Action continues on Saturday, 15 August, with three matches. Al Dhafra host Sharjah at Hamdan bin Zayed Stadium at 6:10 pm, while Al Wasl welcome United to Zabeel Stadium at 8:45 pm.
At the same time, Khorfakkan face Shabab Al Ahli at Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qassimi Stadium. The fixtures are expected to provide an early indication of the ambitions of several title contenders, particularly Sharjah and Shabab Al Ahli.
The opening matchweek concludes on Sunday, 16 August, with Hatta hosting Al Jazira at Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium at 6:10 pm, before defending champions Al Ain visit Bani Yas at Bani Yas Stadium at 8:45 pm in one of the standout fixtures of the round as they begin the defence of their league title.
Although the season opens with many evenly matched fixtures, the opening weeks will provide an early test for the leading contenders. Matchweek 5 features several marquee encounters, including Al Ain against Al Wasl, Shabab Al Ahli versus Al Jazira, and Sharjah against Al Wahda, with those matches likely to offer an early indication of the race for the league title.
