Shabab Al Ahli, Al Wahda in a two-way battle for the top

A two-way tussle is brewing up between Shabab Al Ahli and Al Wahda in the U-21 Pro League.

 


By the end of fourth round matches, both teams managed to stay unbeaten with an identical 12 points from four wins. However, Shabab Al Ahli earned the right to lead the standings on goal difference.

 

 

24 goals was the goal tally scored in the seven games of the competition’s fourth match-week.

 

 

Ali Abdulaziz snatched the match-winner in the 69th minute as Al Nasr held on for a narrow 1-0 win against visiting Khorfakkan at the Saqr bin Mohammad Al Qasimi Stadium.

 

The three points took Al Nasr into fourth place with seven points, while Khorfakkan are still struggling at the bottom of the table.

 


Al Dhafra achieved their first win of the season as they whipped Bani Yas 4-1 away from home. It was Bani Yas who took the lead first in the fifth minute through Hamid Ali Hamid Al Mahri.

 


But, Al Dhafra hit back with Abdullah Ahmed Al Hammadi netting the equaliser in the 21st minute, before Atiq Taif Al Falahi (49th minute), Hassan Sameh Abdel Salam (58th minute) and Ibrahim Mohammad Al Hammadi (73rd minute) completed the rout.

 


The win took Al Dhafra into tenth place with four points, while Bani Yas continued in eleventh with three points.

 


Al Jazira secured a convincing 4-2 away win over hosts Emirates Club in Ras Al Khaimah.

 

Al Jazira's goals came from Mamadou Coulibaly (27th minute), while Walid Hassan (80th minute) added a second before Abdullah Fadaq and Ahmed Al Marzouki scored two quick goals in the late minutes of the match.

 


The two goals for Emirates came from Ammar Aziz in the 35th minute and Mohamed Khalil in the 75th minute.

 

The win took Al Jazira into fifth place on six points, while Emirates remain at the lower end in ninth place having earned four points.

 


Al Ain also got the better of their hosts Ittihad Kalba 3-1 with Issa Khalfan bagging a brace for the winners with goals in the 14th and 73rd minutes.

 

Muhammad Awad Allah scored a third in the 36th minute, while Yasser Hassan scored a consolation goal for Ittihad Kalba in the 83rd minute.

 


The win secured Al Ain a spot closer to the top as they lie in third place with ten points, while Ittihad Kalba have only two points to their name.

 


Ali Hassan scored on either side of half-time as Al Orooba claimed their first win of the season when they beat visiting Ajman 2-1 .

 

Hassan delivered in the 30th minute and added a second four minutes before the final whistle, while Ajman’s goal came through Raed Mahmoud in the 52nd minute.

 


Al Orooba's first three points kept them in 12th place, while Ajman remained in sixth with six points.

 


Al Wahda kept up the pressure for the top spot with a 2-0 win over visiting Al Wasl at the Al Nahyan Stadium. Nader Al Lakmani opened the scoring in the 43rd minute and Rayan Bansi lent the final touches to full points with a goal in the 84th minute to help Al Wahda to a spotless winning record after four rounds.

 

 

Al Wasl stay in eighth place with four points.

 

 


Shabab Al Ahli remained above Al Wahda with a 3-0 win against Sharjah.

 

 

Eid Khamis scored in the 43rd minute, while Hamdan Hamid Al Bishr (47th minute) and Guilherme da Silva (78th minute) sealed the emphatic win to help them stay at the top with 12 points on goal difference with Al Wahda.

 

 

Sharjah slipped into seventh place with five points.
