The day’s action culminates in a high-profile showdown between Khorfakkan and Sharjah at 20:45 at Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Stadium.
This marks the fourth time these teams have met in the ADIB Cup, with Sharjah holding the upper hand in their previous encounters—winning two, drawing one, and outscoring Khorfakkan 4-2.
The excitement continues on Sunday, August 18th, with three more captivating matches.
At 18:05, Kalba will host Al Ain in their sixth ADIB Cup meeting. Both teams have been evenly matched in the past, each securing two wins and one draw, with an equal number of goals scored.
Simultaneously, Al Jazira will go head-to-head with Al Bataeh at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in what will be their first ADIB Cup clash, adding a layer of unpredictability to the fixture.
Gameweek 1 wraps up with a much-anticipated clash between Shabab Al Ahli and Ajman at 20:45 at Rashid Stadium.
Historically, these teams have met 10 times in the ADIB Cup, with Shabab Al Ahli dominating with seven wins to Ajman’s three.
Shabab Al Ahli has been particularly strong at home, losing just once in their last nine ADIB Cup home matches (five wins, three draws).
Meanwhile, Ajman has struggled on the road, failing to win any of their last 12 away matches in the competition, with their last away victory dating back to September 2018, when they defeated Kalba 4-1.
