ADIB Cup: A Storied History and Exciting Start to the 2024-2025 Season

The ADIB Cup is set to kick off its 2024-2025 season this weekend, with Gameweek 1 scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 17 and 18.

 

Fans can expect thrilling encounters as teams embark on their journey in this competition.

 

 

The action begins on Saturday, with three exciting matchups.

 

Bani Yas will face Dibba Al-Hisn at Bani Yas Stadium, and Al Orooba will take on Al Nasr at Dibba Stadium, both kicking off at 6:05 PM.

 

 

Later that evening, Khorfakkan will clash with Sharjah in a highly anticipated match at 8:45 PM at Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Stadium.

 

 

The excitement continues on Sunday, with three more matchups. Al Jazira will host Al Bataeh at 6:05 PM at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, while Kalba welcomes Al Ain at the same time at Kalba Stadium.

 

 

The weekend’s action will conclude with Shabab Al Ahli taking on Ajman at 8:45 PM at Rashid Stadium.

 

 

 

The ADIB Cup has a rich history of memorable matches and intense competition. Over the years, the tournament has featured 706 games, with 525 victories, 181 draws, and a total of 2,114 goals scored.

 

 

Al Jazira leads the all-time scoring charts with 210 goals, followed by Shabab Al Ahli and Al Wahda, each with 195 goals.

 

 

Al Ain, Al Wasl, and Al Nasr also rank among the top-scoring teams in the competition's history.

 

 

On an individual level, Sebastián Tagliabúe holds the record as the all-time top scorer with 37 goals, followed by Fabio De Lima with 33 goals, and Makhete Diop with 30 goals.

 

 

Other notable scorers include Ricardo Oliveira with 27 goals and Luvannor Henrique with 22 goals.
