Only four teams remain on the road to the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) Cup final. The first leg matches of the semi-final stage are scheduled to be held on Wednesday, and Thursday, May 17th and 18th.
While the four teams may adopt a cautious approach in the first leg, two thrilling matches are expected, as the four teams will be seeking to earn a first-leg advantage to edge a step closer to the final.
The first of the two semi-finals pits Al Ain against Al Nasr at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium with the kick-off scheduled at 19:35 pm. While statistics sput titleholders Al Ain as favorites to progress, Al Nasr shouldn’t be underestimated, after defeating Al Dhafra 5-1 on aggregate to reach this stage.
Al Ain endevor to secure the first titles of the season, after finishing runner-up in the 2022-23 ADNOC Pro League, while Al Nasr, the three-time champion, will enter the game with high hopes to secure an important away win against Al Ain and bring joy to their fans, especially since finishing ninth in their b frustrating campaign in the ADNOC Pro League this season.
The other semi-final will kick off at 19:35 pm and will see Al Jazira host Sharjah at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium. The encounter will be open to all possibilities, as both Al Jazira and Sharjah hope to earn a first-leg advantage to edge a step closer to the final.
Al Jazira had a tough road toward the semi-final as they eliminated Shabab Al Ahli in the play-off round and saw off competition from ADNOC Pro League title holders Shabab Al Ahli.
On the other hand, Sharjah enter the game with high hopes after eliminating Khorfakkan with a 2-1 aggregate win and maintaining their recent positive performances in the ADNOC Pro League.
