ADNOC Pro League: Matchweek 19 Preview

With eight matchweeks left in the 2022-23 ADNOC Pro League calendar, it is no wonder that things are heating up at both ends of the table.

Matchweek 19 is nearly upon us and there are several intriguing and enticing fixtures to look forward to in the next two days. Below, we shed light on potential thrillers and preview another exciting matchweek in the ADNOC Pro League.

Each club looks to gain some ground between keeping pace with the league's leading teams or moving up the standings.

Friday's actions get underway with Khorfakkan welcoming Ajman at Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi Stadium for the 17:45 kick-off.

At the same time, Al Bataeh will host Al Dhafra, who must win to boost their hopes of steering away from the relegation battle. Friday’s match will be the second encounter between the two teams in the ADNOC Pro League after their first match ended with a 2-1 win for Al Bataeh.

Fans will be gearing up for what may be the most anticipated match of the day when Al Wahda clash against Al Ain at Al Nahyan for the 20:30 kick-off.

During their 27 previous meetings, Al Ain secured 14 wins, compared to 7 for Al Wahda, while the other six encounters ended in draws.

At the same time, Dibba will have a fiery encounter against Ittihad Kalba. Both teams are in need to collect the three points to keep their hopes alive and move up the standings.

The matches continue on Saturday, with Al Jazira welcoming leaders Shabab Al Ahli in another exciting matchup at Mohamed Bin Zayed Stadium for the 17:45 kick-off.

Al Jazira need to collect the three points to keep their title chances alive, as they currently sit sixth on 33 points.

At the same time, Al Nasr will welcome Bani Yas at Al Maktoum Stadium. The two teams have previously met on 23 occasions, with 11 victories for Al Nasr, compared to 5 for Bani Yas, while the draws decided the result of the remaining 7 encounters.

Matchweek 19 concludes with a big night at Zabeel Stadium between Al Wasl and Sharjah.


Al Wasl will look forward to putting pressure on leaders Shabab Al Ahli as they sit second with 38 points, meanwhile, Sharjah, who recently claimed the UAE Super Cup title, will seek to strengthen their hopes in the title race.
