Al Wahda fought back from a goal down as Omar Khribin grabbed a hat-trick in a thrilling 3-1 win over Kalba in matchweek six of the ADNOC Pro League on Friday.
Kalba lit up the game with a goal blitz after eight minutes from Shahriyar Moghanloo to silence the Al Nahyan crowd.
However, the hosts were livelier after fourteen minutes and broke Kalba's resistance with Omar Khribin's brace in the first half, before hitting his hat-trick in the second half.
Kalba had taken an early lead after eight minutes when Shahriyar Moghanloo timed his run perfectly to head in Caio Eduardo Germano's pinpoint cross.
Hojimat Erkinov is the architect down the left, beating his man before unselfishly squaring for Omar Khribin to slot the ball into the net and restore the parity for Al Wahda in the 32nd minute.
The second was quick to follow when Ala Zhir teed up Brahima Diarra on the right flank and sent a low cross to the unmarked Khribin, who curled a right-footed effort into the back of the net in the 38th minute.
The Syrian international grabbed his hat trick at the hour-mark following a nice move from Ala Zhir as he cut inside the box and squared the ball to Khribin, who found it easy to tap into the empty net.
The win guided Al Wahda to the third spot with 13 points, while Kalba are seventh with seven points.
