Matchweek 14 Preview: Exciting Matchups to Open Second Round of Season

Matchweek 14 of the ADNOC Pro League is already upon us and there are plenty of crucial and exciting fixtures to look forward to over the weekend on January 27th and 28th.


This will mark the start of the second round of the season, as each club, looks to gain some ground between keeping pace with the league's leading teams or moving up the standings.

Friday's actions get underway with Al Ain, who returned to the winning ways during the last matchweek, hosting Ajman, who will search for returning back to the right track.

During their 21 previous encounters, Ajman have just a win at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium on April 2019, compared to 17 victories for Al Ain, while the other three matches ended in draws as Al Ain scored 66 goals, while Ajman found the back of the net on 18 occasions.


At the same time, Khorfakkan will host Bani Yas, as both clubs will seek to compensate for their last defeats in matchweek 13.

During their 9 previous meetings, Bani Yas secured three wins, compared to a win for Khorfakkan, while the other 5 games ended in draws.

The games continue with Sharjah, who will look to return back to the top of the table, hosting leaders Shabab Al Ahli in a big night at Sharjah stadium for the 20:00 kick-off

At the same time, Al Nasr, who search for returning back to the right track after making big deals during the winter transfer window, welcome Al Dhafra, who managed to claim their second win in the league in matchweek 13.

The games continue on Saturday with three games, two of which will be played at 17:15, while the other one will take place at 20:00.

Saturday's actions get underway with Al Bataeh welcoming Ittihad Kalba, as the former will seek to stop dropping points and get back on the right track, while the latter will look to pull off their second win in a row after defeating Al Jazira in matchweek 13.

At the same time, Dibba will host Al Jazira, with the former will be in a search of securing their first win, while the Pride of Abu Dhabi will look to compensate for their last defeat in matchweek 13.

During their 11 previous meetings, Al Jazira won 5 times, compared to two for Dibba, while the other 4 games ended in draw.

All eyes will be shed at Al Nahyan stadium, where Al Wahda will host Al Wasl in a tough encounter.

The two clubs had 27 previous encounters with 11 wins for Al Wahda, compared to 10 for Al Wasl, while the other 6 games ended in draws.
