Al Ain, Sharjah Maintain Winning Streak, While Al Orooba Keep Survival Hopes Alive

The ADNOC Pro League champions Al Ain and Sharjah maintained their winning streak, securing their seventh victory in a row, after the end of matchweek 25.

 

 


Al Nasr - Al Dhafra

 

 

Guilherme Vieira grabbed a brace as Al Dhafra came from a goal down to edge out Al Nasr 2-1 on Saturday and keep their hopes of avoiding relegation alive.

 

 

 

Despite Al Nasr's superiority in terms of possession with 75%, Al Dhafra were more dangerous launching seven shots on target, five of which were brilliantly saved by Al Nasr's goalkeeper Abdulla Al Tamimi.

 

 

 

Al Dhafra's Hamad Al Marzooqi delivered a textbook defensive display producing five blocks from five attempts, while his teammate Issam El Adoua made nine interceptions and Leonard Amesimeku produced seven.

 

 


Sharjah - Emirates

 

 

Sharjah came from behind to defeat already relegated Emirates 2-1 at Sharjah Stadium on Saturday.

 

 

Sharjah lacked accuracy as they had just three shots on target out of 18. Ben Malango assisted Caio Lucas for the third consecutive match, while Bernard Duarte created five goal scoring chances, but none of them were converted into goals by his teammates.

 

 

Al Orooba - Al Wasl

 

 

The third match of the day saw Al Orooba and Al Wasl taking a point each in the game that took place at the Fujairah Stadium.

 

 

 

The hosts had just three shots on target, two of which were in the first half while Al Wasl were more dangerous in the second half posing five real threats on goalkeeper Ahmed Al Hosani, who managed to save four of them.

 

 

Al Wasl's Ramiro Benetti created seven goal-scoring chances, none of them were put into the back of the net by his teammates, while Ali Saleh created four chances, and one of them found the back of the net.

 

 

 


Al Jazira - Al Wahda

 

 

 

Al Wahda came away from the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium with a valuable 2-1 derby win over Al Jazira on Saturday.

 

 

 

The first half saw a fierce attack and chances from both teams as both goalkeepers put in a brilliant performance during the first 45 minutes.

 

 

 

Al Wahda dominated the possession in the second half and translated it into two goals.

 

 

 

Fabio Martins was his side's best performer, scoring the winner and creating five chances, while the ADNOC Pro League's all-time top scorer, Ali Mabkhout, was the best among Al Jazira's squad, netting the opening goal and creating four goal-scoring chances.

 

 

 

Ajman - Al Ain

 

 

 

The second day of matchweek 25 kicked off with Al Ain's big win at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium over Ajman 4-0.

 

 

 

The ADNOC Pro League champions enjoyed the bulk of possession with 54% and launched seven shots within the frame of the goal.

 

 

 

Al Ain achieved seven consecutive wins this season for the first time since the 2015-16 season, while Ajman's players excelled in the duels, but they unleashed just two efforts on target during the second half.

 

 

 

Shabab Al Ahli - Bani Yas

 

 

Shabab Al Ahli came from behind to secure a 2-1 home win over Bani Yas Rashid Stadium on Sunday.

 

 

 

The Dubai-based side utterly dominated the game with 60% of possession, producing 20 attempts, seven of which were on target.

 

 

Ahmed Abdulla Jami was his side's best performer, creating three chances.

 

 

 

Khorfakkan - Ittihad Kalba

 

 

 

Khorfakkan came from behind twice to defeat Ittihad Kalba 3-2 on Sunday, thus overtaking them in the table.

 

 

 

The visitors dominated the game and they were more dangerous, but they failed to secure the victory despite scoring the opening goal.

 

 

 

Duo Zayed Ahmed and Ismail Salem were their side's best players during the 90 minutes, with the former brilliantly saving seven shots out of nine, and the latter grabbed a brace to ensure the three points for their team.
