Al Ain and Al Wahda played out a goalless draw at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium on Monday in the first leg of the ADIB Cup's quarter-final.
The second leg between the two clubs will take place on Friday, December 16th, at Al Nahyan Stadium.
Al Wahda should have opened the scoring after Tahnoon Alzaabi's powerful strike from inside the box was denied by Khalid Eisa in the 32nd minute.
Khalid Eisa was the hero again as he denied a real threat from Al Wahda's players in the 40th minute to keep the title holders' hopes of reaching the semi-final alive.
