UAE Pro League holds Arabian Gulf Super Cup technical meeting

The UAE Pro League held on Wednesday, January 20th, the coordination technical meeting for the Arabian Gulf Super Cup match between Sharjah and Shabab Al Ahli set to get underway at 8pm on Friday, January 22nd, at Al Nasr Club’s Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai.

 

It was agreed that Sharjah, as 2018-19 Arabian Gulf League champions, will be on the left side of the main stand and Shabab Al Ahli, as UAE President’s Cup champions, will be on the right side of the main stand.

 

Sharjah will be wearing an all-white kit, while Shabab Al Ahli will be wearing an all-red kit.

 

According to Article 15 of the Arabian Gulf Super Cup competition regulations, in case the regular time ends in a draw, the game goes straight into a penalty shootout, with no extra time.

 

As it coincides with “Our Winter is Super” initiative, it was decided that the pre-match press conference will be held at Al Seef area in Dubai on Thursday evening, as Sharjah’s press conference will start at 3:15 pm followed by the Shabab Al Ahli press conference at 4pm. Both press conferences will be attended by the coach and one starting player.

 

The technical meeting was chaired by UAE Pro League CEO Waleed Al Hosani and was attended by representatives of the Sharjah and Shabab Al Ahli clubs, the private security company, the referees committee and the work teams from the various departments of the UAE Pro League and Al Nasr Club.

 

During the meeting, the two teams' logistical, technical, organizational, and media arrangements were reviewed.

 

The official training for both teams will be held at the Al Maktoum stadium on Thursday evening with a full hour dedicated for each team; Shabab Al Ahli’s training session will start at 5pm followed by Sharjah training session at 6:15pm. The two teams agreed that the sessions will be open to media for the first 15 minutes, after which they will continue behind closed doors.
