ADNOC Pro League's Matchweek 16 to See Tough Clashes on February 18, 19

Matchweek 16 of the ADNOC Pro League is set to see tough clashes between all teams, as each side looks to gain some ground between keeping pace with the league's leading teams or moving up the standings.

This round of games will see the implementation of the UAE Pro League's decision to increase fans' capacity at stadiums to 100% in all Pro League competitions.

The Al Wahda vs Khorfakkan encounter will mark the start of the matchweek 16 at Al Nahyan Stadium at 17:30 on Friday evening.

The hosts look to keep up their winning streak having won the last three matches and a fourth could keep up pressure on leaders Al Ain, while Khorfakkan hope for a long awaited victory after failing to win or draw in any of the last six rounds.

Al Wahda have never lost a match against Khorfakkan in the history of the Pro League, as the two teams have met five times, with Al Wahda winning four and a tie deciding the last match.

Al Ain are set to host Baniyas at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium at 17:30 on Friday evening.

The league leaders hope to keep up their red-hot form to cement their place at the top of the table, while Baniyas seek to compensate for their loss in the last round to move up the table.

Al Ain have won in 11 matches against Baniyas, with the latter winning four, and a draw deciding the result of the other four matches in the ADNOC Pro League.

Friday's action also sees a tough clash between Al Wasl and Sharjah at Zabeel Stadium, at 20:00.

The two teams have scored a total of 84 goals, of which 43 were scored by Sharjah, and 41 goals by Al Wasl in their 23 league matches.

Both teams look to continue their good form, especially after securing narrow victories in the previous round.

The second day of matches will see a clash between Shabab Al Ahli and Al Orooba at Rashid Stadium at 17:30.

The two teams have only played each other once before and the game ended in a 1-1 draw, so a win would be in order for either side.

Shabab Al Ahli are looking to return to winning ways, especially after drawing in the last round but have been in good form recently, while Al Orooba seek their second victory in the competition to move away from the relegation zone.

Al Dhafra will welcome Emirates FC at Hamdan bin Zayed Stadium, at 17:30.

It is a bottom of the table clash, as Al Dhafra are in 12th place on 10 points, while the Ras Al Khaimah based side sit at the bottom of the table with only five points.

Saturday's action gets more exciting with a tough clash between Al Nasr and Al Jazira at Al Maktoum Stadium at 20:00.

The match is always special and with unexpected results between the two teams, as the Dubai based side look to achieve their first victory since the matchweek nine, to move up a place in the league standings.

It will not be a one-sided game for Al Jazira who hope to build their winning streak, having won their last two matches.

The two teams have previously met in 25 matches, with 13 victories for the Pride of Abu Dhabi compared to eight for Al Nasr and a draw in four matches.

Al Jazira have a game in hand from the matchweek 15 against Ittihad Kalba.

At the same time, Ajman will welcome Ittihad Kalba to Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Stadium.

The two teams have previously met in nine matches in the Pro League, with four victories for Ajman compared to three for Ittihad Kalba, and the draw decided the result in the other two matches.

Ajman sit in 7th place on 19 points, while Ittihad Kalba occupy 10th place with 18 points and have a game in hand against Al Jazira from the matchweek 15.
