Arabian Gulf League U21 matchweek 7: Kalba narrow gap at top

Matchweek 7 of the Arabian Gulf League U21, which was held on Saturday and Sunday, saw Ittihad Kalba defeat Al Dhafra 2-1 at home to narrow the gap on Al Ain at top to one point only.

 

The Tigers currently sit second on 16 points. On the other hand, the Boss maintained their position on top of the standings despite drawing 1-1 with Al Wahda away from home.   

 

Al Dhafra’s defeat left them at the bottom of the table with one point only, while Al Wahda raised their tally to nine points in sixth place. They are tied on points with seventh-placed Bani Yas who defeated Al Nasr 2-1 at home.  

 

Sharjah and Shabab Al Ahli are tied on 13 points in third and fourth place, respectively. The King claimed a 4-2 win over Khorfakkan, while Shabab Al Ahli were held to a 2-2 draw by Ajman.

 

The defeat put Khorfakkan in 13th place as they collected four points only so far. They are three points behind Ajman who sit in 12th place.

 

Al Wasl played out a 2-2 away from home draw with Fujairah to sit fifth with 10 points. Meanwhile, Hatta and Al Jazira match ended with the same scoreline. Fujairah, Al Jazira, Hatta and Al Nasr are tied on eight points and occupy positions from eighth to 11th, respectively.
