Voting is now open | UAE Pro League announces March Best Awards nominees

The UAE Pro League has announced the nominees for the Arabian Gulf League Best monthly awards, powered by Etisalat, the official sponsor of the Arabian Gulf League, in the Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, and Best Coach categories for the month of March, which aligns with the UAEPL’s strategy of motivating outstanding players and improving fan interaction to further improve the competition.

The shortlist for March’s Best Player award includes Khorfakkan midfielder Dodo, Al Wasl midfielder Fabio Lima, Paul-José M'Poku of Al Wahda, Al Ain forward Kodjo Laba, and Al Jazira defender Kalifa Al Hammadi.

Dodo booked his spot on the list after his impressive performance in March which saw him net three goals and guide Khorfakkan to 10th place, away from the relegation battle. The Brazilian midfielder is competing against Fabio Lima, who netted late to rescue a point against Fujairah and scored a double against Ajman to help Al Wasl earn a 4-2 comeback win. They are joined by Paul-José M'Poku, who was a key player for Al Wahda in March, which saw them earn two wins, a draw, and suffer a defeat.

Togolese forward Kodjo Laba was also nominated for the award after netting four goals with Al Ain in March. In addition, defender Khalifa Al Hammadi is contending for the prize after his remarkable performances with Al Jazira in March.

In the Best Goalkeeper category, Fahad Al Dhanhani who guided Bani Yas to the top of the standings is competing against Al Ain’s Khalid Eisa and Al Wahda’s Mohammed Al Shamsi after their outstanding performances in March.

Shabab Al Ahli coach Mahdi Ali is nominated for the Best Coach award after extending his team’s unbeaten run to 12 games. He is contending for the award against Al Ain coach Pedro Emanuel who helped his side earn two wins and a draw in March and Bani Yas coach Daniel Isaila who guided his team to the top of the standings.

Voting for the three categories has opened on Monday at noon on the Arabian Gulf League website and mobile app and continues for 72 hours. After which, winners will be announced through the official UAE PL social media channels.
