New Colours, Same Old Prolific Pedro

Joao Pedro cemented his status as one of the best strikers in the ADNOC Pro League, after he topped Al Wahda's scorers list, finishing the first half of the campaign with eight goals in 13 appearances, a tally bettered only by Al Ain's Laba Kodjo (13).

With a scoring rate of 0.26 per match in his 1146 minutes of action this term, the Brazilian continues to excel in his third consecutive ADNOC Pro League season, taking his overall tally in the competition to 38 goals in 54 games, averaging 0.7 per match.

Pedro had bagged 18 goals with Baniyas in the 2020-21 season, and 12 goals with Al Dhafra the season prior to that.

The 28-year-old's goals were crucial to his side finishing the first half of the season in second place with 24 points and with the league's second-best attack line this season, level with Al Nasr on 24 goals.

And with a title battle beckoning in the second half, the Abu Dhabi side will be hopeful their frontman will remain sharp in front of goal.

Pedro's goals came from 41 shots in total, of which 18 were on target.

He scored seven goals from inside the penalty box, and a goal from outside the penalty box, including three headed goals, without scoring any goals from the penalty spot.
