Leaders Shabab Al Ahli will continue their tussle with second-placed Al Ain in their two-way leadership tussle as teams get set for Round 10 action of the UAE U-21 Pro League on Sunday and Monday.
After nine rounds of the league, Shabab Al Ahli are at the top of the standings with 21 points followed by Al Ain in second place with 19 points and Al Wahda in third place with 17 points.
In Round Nine action held earlier this month, Shabab Al Ahli secured full points with a narrow 1-0 win against a gritty Ittihad Kalba. Shabab Al Ahli will now have to put up their best performance as they make a short trip across the creek to meet Al Nasr.
In Round 9 action, second-placed Al Ain were made to work hard for a 4-3 win against Al Dhafra to maintain the pressure on the leaders.
Now, Al Ain will be called on to contain Al Jazira when the two meet on Sunday.
Third-placed Al Wahda dropped valuable points when they lost 1-2 against Sharjah in their last encounter.
On Monday, Al Wahda will need to find their focus again as they travel to Ajman.
Sharjah and Ajman are on an identical 15 points. On a high after securing full points against Al Wahda, fourth-placed Sharjah will now take on underdogs and bottom-placed Khor Fakkan at home, while fifth-placed Ajman will have to be at their best when they host Al Wahda, on Monday.
Al Dhafra waged a tough battle before going down to Al Ain 3-4 in their last match. They will now have to travel to the Zabeel Stadium along the Dubai-Al Ain road in Dubai to add to their tally.
In another match, seventh-placed Itthad Kalba will be up against tenth-placed Emirates Club, while Al Orooba will be up against Bani Yas.
All seven matches of the UAE U-21 Pro League will be played simultaneously at 4.45 pm on both the days.
