Arabian Gulf League preview: Matchweek 16

Exciting and entertaining matchups are expected in matchweek 16 of the Arabian Gulf League, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday and Sunday.

Shabab Al Ahli are scheduled to open the action when they host Al Wahda at Rashid Stadium at 5:30 pm. The home side will be looking to maintain their winning streak and edge into the top four, as they now sit fifth on 25 points.

They are two points above their opponents Al Wahda who are looking to improve their position and move up.

Meanwhile, Khorfakkan will be welcoming Bani Yas at Saqr bin Mohammad al Qassimi Stadium. The Sky Blues will be looking to keep the momentum alive after beating Fujairah last week, hoping to close the gap on second-placed Al Jazira. On the other hand, Khorfakkan are targeting to move further away from the relegation zone after their recent defeat to Al Nasr.

Sharjah will host Al Ain at 8:15 pm, as the King are seeking to return to winning ways after dropping two points against Al Wahda last week. While the hosts want to maintain their position at the top of the standings, the Boss need to bounce back from their 4-1 defeat against Shabab Al Ahli.

Hatta and Ajman will be playing at the same time at Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium at the same time. Hatta are seeking to get their first win of the season, while Ajman want to earn their third win of the season after losing 2-1 to Ittihad Kalba to move further from away from the relegation zone.
